Contact tracing, isolation, ang susi laban sa COVID-19

AGRESIBONG contact tracing at agarang isolation ng mga asymptomatic at mild positive na mga pasyente mula sa kanilang mga komunidad ag magiging susi upang maiwasan ang higit pang paglawak ng pagkahawa ng coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Ito ang binigyang-diin ni National Task Force (NTF) Against Covid-19 chairperson at Defense Secretary Delfin N. Lorenza sa ginanap na pagpupulong nitong Agosto 7 kasama ang mga lokal na opisyal ng Pateros upang maibahagi ang kaalaman sa pagsisikap ng mga lokal na pamahalaan sa pakikipaglaban sa sakit.

Naganap ang pagpupulong halos isang linggo matapos muling isailalim ang Metro Manila at mga probinsiya ng Laguna, Bulacan, Cavite at Rizal sa modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) dahil sa dumaraming bilang ng kaso sa mga lugar.

“The biggest lesson we learned while making our rounds in Metro Manila is to do contact tracing and isolating positive cases from their communities,” pahayag ni Lorenzana.

Sa pagpupulong, nagpalitan ng ideya at suhestiyon ang NTF at mga opisyal ng Pateros kung paano mapipigilan ang pagkalat ng virus, habang tinatalakay ang inaasahang agwat sa pagsisikap ng pambansa at lokal na pamahalaan sa COVID-19.

“We are here to meet with local chief executives and discuss the ways that the national government can help them (in their response) and identify areas for improvement in handling Covid-19 cases,” ani Lorenzana.

Kabilang sa mga kinakaharap na pagsubok ng Pateros ang pag-i-isolate ng mga positibong kaso na kasalukuyang naka-home quarantine.

“We really need to act immediately and separate Covid-19 positive patients to avoid infecting the whole community,” pahayag naman ni National Action Plan on Covid-19 Chief Implementer Carlito G. Galvez.

“We’ll take care of the facility, food, and transportation so that we can do it within the day. We’re already coordinating with MMDA to plan the transfer of these people,” dagdag pa ng opisyal.

Nagpasalamat naman si Pateros Mayor Miguel F. Ponce III NTF officials sa pagbisita sa munisipalidad at pagsuporta sa hakbang ng lokal na pamahalaan laban sa pandemya.

“I know that we will not be able to win this battle without the support of our national government. So, I would like to thank you, Sec. Lorenzana, Sec. Galvez and all the other representatives from the different agencies,” ani Ponce.

“I could vouch for my people here in the Municipality of Pateros that the Cabinet secretaries, particularly those who are with us today, actually gave their all-out support to us that’s why we have reached this stage in our fight against Covid-19,”dagdag pa niya.

Sa pulong, nagbigay ang mga NTF opisyal ng 3,000 set ng personal protective equipment (PPE) sa munisipalidad bilang bahagi ng tuloy-tuloy na pagsisikap ng pamahalaan na mapataas ang kapabilidad ng healthcare system ng bansa.
