Cashless toll collections, sa Disyembre 1 na
Nagpasya ang Department of Transportation (DOTr) na sa halip na sa Nobyembre ay sa Disyembre na ipatupad ang full implementation ng cashless toll collections sa bansa.
Ito ay tugon sa panawagan ng mga motorista, na wala pa ring RFID stickers sa kanilang sasakyan.
Ayon sa DOTr, ang extension ay nangangahulugan na ang Department Order 2020-012 na nagmamandato ng cashless mode of payment o 100% paggamit ng electronic payment systems sa expresways, ay magsisimulang ipatupad sa Disyembre 1, mula sa dating schedule na Nobyembre 2.
Nilinaw ng DOTr, non-extendible na ang naturang petsa.
“With the extension, this means that the full implementation of the department order mandating only the cashless mode of payment, or the 100% use of electronic payment systems, in expressways will start on December 1. The deadline will no longer be extended beyond this date,” anang DOTr.
Sinabi ni Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) Executive Director Abraham Sales, na pinayagan ni DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade ang extension upang mabigyan ng mas mahabang pagkakataon ang mga motorista na makapagpakabit ng RFID, at tumalima sa department order.
“But, mind you, this will be the last time that we will be extending. No more extension beyond December 1,” diin Sales.
