Robinsons Place Tacloban’s new wing opens
ROBINSONS Malls proves it strength in the Visayas region as it recently opened the newest wing of Robinsons Place Tacloban.
Its 22,500-square meter expansion highlights a larger Robinsons Supermarket and Robinsons Department Store, additional two cutting-edge cinemas, and a wide array of apparel and food options, all for the Taclobanons to enjoy.
Robinsons Place Tacloban exudes a festive and refreshing vibe that is truly familiar to the locals as its interiors were inspired by the famous and well celebrated Sangyaw festival. Splashes of orange and yellow hues were used in the mall’s pillars, walls and lighting fixtures. Unique column designs and colorful patterns reminiscent of the Sangyaw tattoos and photos of its festive costumes in all the toilets made the mall’s new look more attractive. The beautiful Al Fresco features lotus flower installations as its main attraction and is complemented with water features making the area an ideal spot for photos and selfies.
The Taclobanon’s growing demand for a complete and satisfying shopping experience paved the way to the opening of Robinsons Place Tacloban’s expansion mall. Now, it has The Lingkod Pinoy Center, a one-stop destination for people wanting to do business with various government agencies such as Department of Foreign Affairs, Social Security System, Technical Education and Skills Development Agency, Philippine Health Corporation (PhilHealth) or Professional Regulation Commission.
The milestone event were led by Toys R Us General Manager Celina Chua, Tacloban City Vice-Mayor Jerry “Sambo” Yaokasin, Leyte First District Representative Yedda Romualdez, Tacloban City Mayor Cristina Romualdez, Robinsons Land Corporation – Commercial Centers Division Senior Vice-President and General Manager Arlene G. Magtibay, Province of Leyte Governor Dominic Petilla, and Robinsons Land Corporation Ambassadress Maja Salvador.
Robinsons Place Tacloban first opened in June 2009 and soon opened its annex in 2011. Having withstood the adversities brought by typhoon Yolanda in 2013, it immediately re-opened in June 2014. For seven years now, Robinsons Place Tacloban continues to play an important part of the city life of Tacloban and its neighboring towns.
