Ayala-Anflocor venture plans Davao expansion
DAVAO CITY — Accendo Commercial Corp., a joint venture between Ayala Land, Inc. (ALI) and Anflo Management and Investment Corporation (Anflocor), is expanding its 10-hectare complex by an additional two hectares, where it will build another residential project.
Antonio Luigi C. Escano, company operations manager, said they will soon launch Patio Suites, a two-tower 20-floor condominium project, for the middle to upper income market.
Mr. Escano said the investment would be a “substantial amount,” but declined to give an estimate for now on the capital outlay.
“We are quite bullish about Davao, we’ve been quite bullish in this area since we opened Abreeza (in 2011),” Mr. Escano told the media.
The ALI-Anflocor partnership owns and operates the commercial complex here that houses the Seda Abreeza Hotel, condominiums Abreeza Residences and Abreeza Place, and the Ayala Abreeza Mall, which also has a corporate center for business process outsourcing ( BPO) companies and other offices.
Patio Suites, to be located on a property across the road from the existing complex, is planned for groundbreaking early this year.
Mr. Escano said Avida Land, Inc., another Ayala subsidiary, is also planning to build a residential tower in the area.
Aside from the new condominium, Accendo is also building another corporate center in the Abreeza complex with eight floors and about 11,000 square meters in leasable area.
“The first BPO tower is 100% occupied. The first three floors are being occupied by Convergys. The top floor is occupied by several traditional offices,” said Mr. Escano, adding that there is continuing demand for BPO space in the city.
“We’re just responding to that demand,” he said.
For Abreeza Mall, Operations Manager Meliza Tanduyan said among the new locators coming in are toy maker Lego and the Cambridge School for Toddlers.
In another part of the city, Mr. Escano said several small retail projects are also in the pipeline.
Among these is the stand-alone retail development within Azuela Cove, ALI’s new township project in Lanang district.
Azuela Cove will be a 25-hectare mixed-use complex under the Ayala Land Premier brand. —
