Korean unification concert tour opens in Manila

-

A MAJOR Korean pop concert will be held on March 2 at the Mall of Asia Arena. The show, dubbed as the 2017

Global Peace Concert – One Korea in Manila, will feature top K-pop superstars such as Psy, CNBlue, and SHINee. Established groups BTOB, BAP, B1A4 and AOA are also featured in the concert. One Korea in Manila is a show with a cause — it spearheads the effort to seek global support for the unification of Korea. The One-K Global Campaign Organizing Committee, which consists of 850 domestic NGOs including Action for Korea United (AKU), started the civic-led unification movement in 2015. AKU produced, released and distributed a campaign song, “One Dream, One Korea” which was sung by 28 top K-pop artists. It also staged a unification-themed concert in Seoul in September 2015 at the Sangam World Cup Stadium. Initially drawing attention from young South Koreans, the campaign is seen expanding globally. As part of this year’s campaign, international producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, and American singer-songwriter Peabo Bryson teamed up with several Korean singers on a special peace song. The track is set for release prior to the March 2 concert in Manila. Thereafter, the global tour will have stops in the United States, China, and Japan, among others. The Manila show, which starts at 7 p.m., is hosted by KBS Media and ONE K Global Campaign Organizing Committee, in partnership with All Access Productions. Tickets cost P9,000, P6,000, P5,000, P3,000, and P1,500 (excluding ticketing charge) and are available at all SM Tickets.
