ETSI Technologies, Inc. marks 35th anniversary
AFTER MAKING its mark in providing telecom infrastructure and turnkey services for over three decades, the former subsidiary of Siemens AG (Germany) and Nokia Networks ( Finland), ETSI Technologies, Inc. is now expanding into other major markets and new types of offerings.
CJ Castro, chief executive officer of ETSI since 2007, said that the company has significantly transformed from its original business as the exclusive service arm of Siemens. He admitted that the foreign ownership divestment in 2014 actually opened many new opportunities, particularly in projects with national and social relevance.
ETSI is currently implementing a border control and security project with a US defense contractor. The project is designed specifically to secure the coastlines of the Philippines from external threats.
“Working with a highly experienced US defense contractor proves that ETSI can match the toughest of international military standards,” explained Mr. Castro.
Internet connectivity is another space where ETSI seeks to make a difference. Many Filipinos and their communities are still handicapped by slow broadband speeds, or have no access at all, thus creating a gap in their ability to participate in the local as well as the global economy.
“We are one with the nation in demanding for better broadband quality nationwide and ETSI will continue to actively support both the Technology and Service providers in their efforts to leap-frog our communication infrastructure to the next generation,” Mr. Castro said.
With its 35 years of solid experience, ETSI is geared up for the years ahead. Mr. Castro and his leadership team are optimistic that the next decade will be a truly exciting and rewarding time for the company and its people.
