James moving up

With impressive plays from guys like Russell Westbrook of Oklahoma City, James Harden of Houston, Giannis Antetokounmpo of Milwaukee and Isaiah Thomas of Boston this season, the still effective game of LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers is somehow given “less” attention than it should have.

Averaging stellar numbers of 26.2 points, 8.4 rebounds and 8.8 assists while leading the defending champions Cleveland Cavaliers to the best record in the Eastern Conference at 46-23, James undeniably is still one of the top players, if not the top player, in The Association. His performance currently, both as an individual player and part of the team, only fortifies his standing as one of the best in league history.

And “King James” is set to move up in league annals some more as he climbs up the charts in all-time league numbers in the coming days. The three-time world champion with the Miami Heat and Cavaliers is set to surpass Shaquille O’Neal for the seventh alltime in the scoring list.

James, as of this writing, stands just 114 points behind O’Neal at 28,482 to the latter’s 28,596 points.

At the current rate he is going, James should easily crack the top three when his career is over and done with.

King James is also on track to enter the top 12 all-time in assists, being just 22 dimes away from NBA legend Maurice Cheeks.

The Cleveland star is currently no. 13 with 7,370 assists to the Cheeks’s 7,392.

Like in the scoring list, it is safe to say that James should only climb up and further underscore his multidimensional talent that would make him a first-ballot Hall-of Famer someday.

While the impressive play of Westbrook And Co. should be admired at, let us not forget the greatness that is LeBron James in our midst. He may be polarizing at times but the man can play ball big time. And that deserves respect.
