Two additional lanes along the Napindan Bridge 2 are expected to be open to motorists by July. “We (are) currently on the last stretch of the construction. This coming July, 2 more lanes are set to open within the bridge connecting the boundaries of Taguig and Pateros,” Public Works Secretary Mark A. Villar said in a statement on Monday. “Final inspection as to the structural integrity, safety of the bridge has already commenced,” he also said. Mr. Villar noted that the opening of the additional lanes is part of the installment for the Laguna Lake Highway Project which is projected to reduce travel time from Taytay to Bicutan. The completion of the two lanes is expected to decongest major thoroughfares like C5 and EDSA. “The rehabilitation of Napindan Bridge 2 also includes the construction of a 3-meter bike lane to ensure accessibility to more individuals,” Mr. Villar said.

2 young males found — one alive in Bulacan, the other dead in Caloocan

TWO young males, both in their early 20s, who separately went missing on the second week of March had been found — one was alive, the other dead, his remains retrieved reportedly near a waste container and ended up at a funeral parlor. What happened to 23-year-old Michael Kenneth Cruz, a magna cum laude chemical engineering graduate of the University of the Philippines-Los Baños who went missing last March 16, and how he was found in Bulacan remain a puzzle. Also, who killed 20-year-old Chito Lorenzo “Renzo” Lopez IV, who was allegedly abducted along IBP Road in Quezon City, and why he was gunned down continue to baffle the victim’s kin. Mr. Lopez’s mother Rosario, continues to be at a loss on why Renzo had to suffer a gruesome end. She said Renzo just went out to buy medicine for his two-year-old son who had a fever. It was reported on Sunday that his family found Renzo’s remains at a funeral parlor in Brgy. 178, Camarin, Caloocan City, wearing the same clothes when he was last seen on March 14 with his body full of gunshot wounds. — >> See full story on
