PLDT eyes P68B from Enterprise, Home

- — Imee Charlee C. Delavin

PLDT, Inc.’s Enterprise and Home business is seen continuing its upward trajectory to deliver around P68 billion in combined revenue this year, to be driven by the telecommunications giant’s continued investment in data-related infrastructure and services.

“[For] Home and Enterprise, we’re looking at P68 billion to P69 billion, hopefully we can hit P70 billion, mahirap, pero our target is P68 billion combined this year, which is a double digit growth [from last year],” PLDT Chief Revenue Officer and ePLDT President and CEO Eric R. Alberto said on Thursday.

PLDT reported its service revenues from its home broadband business rose 10% to P29.3 billion in 2016 while its Enterprise business also rose 9% to P30.6 billion.

As revenue from traditional voice and text services — still its biggest moneymaker — continue to be under pressure, PLDT earlier said it is also looking to focus on its fixed line and broadband business and dominate the mobile Internet space.

“The drivers for the growth in 2017 and even perhaps the next couple of years would be Enterprise and Home, considering the wireless business has suffered to a large extent from massive competition and price erosion, not only on the mainstream talk and text but actually spilled over to the data bundle pricing,” Mr. Alberto said in February.

PLDT’s Enterprise segments — PLDT ALPHA and PLDT SME Nation — caters to large and small-and-medium businesses, while the Home digital services unit caters to the broadband market.

In a bid to further improve its Enterprise segment, PLDT on Thursday ramped-up its collaboration with USbased global IT company Cisco to elevate the enterprise networking experience with next-generation business solutions powered with enterprise-class connectivity.
