Buy a Charriol watch, help a good cause

-

CHARRIOL, the jewelry brand known for its chain and rope-like bracelets, is offering its customers the chance to do some more good in the world. Under its campaign, called “Watch Me Graduate,” Charriol will donate P1,000 for every timepiece sold in its Charriol branches nationwide between March 16 to May 31 to The Foundation for Professional Training, Inc. (FPTI), a nonprofit organization that promotes lifelong development for women by conducting formal education and vocational programs through its managed schools and centers. It is the second year that the watch brand has partnered with the organization. “My wife, actually, she is in charge of public relations, and she concentrates all her efforts on promoting [ women]. Every organization that involves women around the world, whether in Europe; in Monaco, or even here, is well-supported, as much as we can,” said Philippe Charriol, CEO and founder of Charriol, during his visit to Manila on April 3. During a luncheon at the The Peninsula Manila where the initiative was launched, guests were introduced to some students of the Punlaan School, one of the beneficiaries of the program. Most of the women who have trained under the institution have been educated for a job in the culinary and hospitality industry, and have done well. Most come from underprivileged backgrounds, and have achieved success, such as Mary Jane Suner, who came from a troubled home with an alcoholic father, and through her scholarship, has travelled around the world working on a cruise ship.

“It’s something very interesting because it’s free from your heart. You give time, you give your energy, your savings, and try to make young girls, good girls,” said Mr. Charriol, addressing his comments to the FPTI. He has also promised to fully sponsor one student out of his own pocket.

In the Philippines, Charriol is exclusively distributed by Stores Specialists, Inc. and has branches at Bonifacio High Street Central; Gateway Mall; Greenbelt 5, Newport Mall; the Podium; Power Plant Mall; Robinsons Magnolia and Robinsons Place Manila; Rustan’s Makati Shangri-La, and Ayala Cebu; SM Mall of Asia; TriNoma; 158 Designers’ Boulevard which has branches at Alabang Town Center, Century City Mall and Marquee Mall; Kiss & Fly Terminal 3; Brandsmart in Robinsons Starmills Pampanga; Abreeza Mall in Davao; Limketkai Cagayan de Oro; and Veranza Mall in General Santos City. —
