Glasses from French brand Agnès b. now in Manila
FRENCH fashion brand Agnès b. has made its way to Manila through the introduction of its latest eyewear collection, the Agnès b. Lunettes.
In collaboration with eyewear specialist Ideal Vision, Agnès b. introduced its optical glasses and sunglasses on March 29 at the Ideal Vision Center in SM Aura, Taguig City. Brand manager Julia Yam said the Manila launch is line with the company’s international expansion.
“[ It is the] 40th year of Agnès b., but it keeps on going for the global development. It has a lot of branches all over the world and [ already has] over 370 shops,” she told BusinessWorld.
Agnès b. considers the brand’s DNA important, she said, which is the reason why the eyeglass styles are clean cut but pay attention to delicate details. The brand’s founder and French fashion designer Agnès Trouble gives each piece a French name.
What makes Agnès b. distinct from other eyewear brands, Ms. Yam said, is its chic yet timeless styles which all wearers can relate to.
“We want to express the individuality and personality of each [ person]. We embrace different lifestyles and encourage to be yourself,” she said.
At the launch, the collection’s display was subdivided into different characteristics such as quirky, classic, creative, trendy, iconic, and traveler, which cater to different user’s characters.
Agnès b.’s optical pieces are known for the use of lightweight and easy-to-carry titanium. Ms. Yam said they noticed Filipinos are into round glasses, which is why they are offering that shape as well.
As for their sunglasses, Agnès b. has pieces that play on colors, which Ms. Yam said Filipinos are sure to love in time for summer.
“[ We are] very happy that Agnès b. has been launched in the Philippines. Ideal Vision is one of our global distributors and we are glad to show [our] optical and sunglasses collection,” Ms. Yam said.
Ideal Vision transformed its space at SM Aura as an Agnès b. pop-up store from March 29 to April 2 and will have the brand available at all its branches soon. Each pair of frames is priced at P5,995. —
