Myanmar Ambassador-designate presents credentials

MYANMAR AMBASSADOR-designate to the Philippines U Win Naing yesterday submitted his credentials to President Rodrigo R. Duterte, followed by a private meeting between the two. Mr. Naing was former Myanmar Ambassador to Pakistan, and was appointed as diplomat to the Philippines by Myanmar President U Htin Kyaw last February. Mr. Naing was present during Mr. Duterte’s visit to Myanmar in March, where the chief executive donated $300,000 as humanitarian assistance to the conflict-affected Rakhine State. —
