Manila Doc­tors re­stores hope through sur­gi­cal mis­sion

MANILA Doc­tors Hospi­tal, in part­ner­ship with the Par­ish of Batanes, held a med­i­cal-sur­gi­cal mis­sion in Basco, Batanes. A med­i­cal team from Manila Doc­tors flew all the way to the coun­try’s north­ern­most is­land to serve in­di­gent pa­tients who have never seen and catered by doc­tors. The team was com­posed of Dr. Ter­rence Cham and Dr. Karen Lee-Ong from the Depart­ment of Oph­thal­mol­ogy, Dr. Ed­mund Ong and Dr. Cather­ine Osea from the Depart­ment of Otorhi­no­laryn­gol­ogy, Dr. Ma. So­corro Gar­cia from the Depart­ment of Fam­ily and Com­mu­nity Medicine, Sh­eryl Ann Lim­son from the Phar­macy Depart­ment, Rowel Dasco from the Nurs­ing Ser­vice Divi­sion, and vol­un­teers from the Cor­po­rate So­cial Re­spon­si­bil­ity Of­fice were able to serve 1,175 pa­tients by con­duct­ing 1,635 con­sul­ta­tions and 25 mi­nor op­er­a­tions.
