Manila Doctors restores hope through surgical mission

MANILA Doctors Hospital, in partnershi­p with the Parish of Batanes, held a medical-surgical mission in Basco, Batanes. A medical team from Manila Doctors flew all the way to the country’s northernmo­st island to serve indigent patients who have never seen and catered by doctors. The team was composed of Dr. Terrence Cham and Dr. Karen Lee-Ong from the Department of Ophthalmol­ogy, Dr. Edmund Ong and Dr. Catherine Osea from the Department of Otorhinola­ryngology, Dr. Ma. Socorro Garcia from the Department of Family and Community Medicine, Sheryl Ann Limson from the Pharmacy Department, Rowel Dasco from the Nursing Service Division, and volunteers from the Corporate Social Responsibi­lity Office were able to serve 1,175 patients by conducting 1,635 consultati­ons and 25 minor operations.
