Demand for self-storage units seen to rise in Manila
THE GROWING number of condominiums and small businesses in Metro Manila is seen to drive the demand for self-storage units.
Loc&Stor 24/7, located in Pasig City, offers self-storage units for personal belongings, as well as for business use. It caters to people who do not have enough space in their homes, families moving to condominiums, and small businesses looking for office warehouse.
During a tour of the facility last month, Loc&Stor 24/7 owner Sam Peterson said he is hopeful of the future of the growing storage industry due to thriving small businesses and popularity of condo living in the country.
Loc&Stor 24/7 offers various storage sizes and flexible contracts. The smallest is the locker room size, which can accommodate eight Balikbayan boxes, while the jumbo room can store up to 180 Balikbayan boxes. Customers can use the units to store Christmas decor, luggage, valuable paintings, and large furniture. However, perishable goods, drugs and guns are not allowed in the facility.
Mr. Peterson said the facility is equipped with passwords, closed-circuit television (CCTV), locks, individual unit alarm, and security guards.
The rental rates for storage units range from P1,900 to P15,000 a month. A 10% surcharge is imposed on units with air-conditioning.
Customers are also required to get insurance that covers natural incidents like fire, typhoon, and earthquake, and other disasters like water leakage and malicious damage.
Loc&Stor 24/7 is strategically located along E. Rodriguez, Jr., Avenue in Bagong Ilog, Pasig City, near business and residential establishments.
