The Millennial Working with Temox Multi-Insect Killer

-

Some people are born into a privileged life. The proverbial silver spoon has their name on it. But what separates the wheat from the chaff is the manner by which a number of them approach life.

Edward Cheng, marketing manager of Monsi Chemical Manufacturing Industries (makers of the popular Temox Multi-Insect Killer), may be the son of the company’s owner and founder, Artemis Cheng. But even as his “friendly challenges” with his Dad have egged him on to succeed, he has nonetheless been carving his professional path based on his own life philosophies.

“I always think that I only have one life to live, so might as well live it to the fullest,” Edward explains. “And also, why would I insult myself by giving sub- par work? Why not strive for excellence?”

For Edward, this pursuit of excellence began, not by being comfortably installed in a cushy office in the family business, but rather at the bottom. Being immersed in the family business since grade school, the young man learned lessons that will equip him for his role today. Likewise, he also gained valuable industry experience through a stint with a multinational company. The 22- yearold working millennial remarks: “There’s a saying that goes: ‘ The first generation creates the business; the second generation builds the business; and the third generation crushes the business.’ I would like to deviate from that mind- set. Rather, I would like to think that being part of the younger generation, I am here to nurture its growth for the succeeding generations.”

And with Edward at the helm, it will surely flourish. Tepox sa Temox The strength of Monsi rests squarely upon its signature brand, Temox MultiInsect Killer. While competitors target only one kind of insect, Temox gets rid of multiple types. The consumer need not purchase plenty of insect killer variants. They need only one, and that is Temox.

Temox has 14 SKUs (stock keeping units). Edward explains why. “As we are a multi- insect killer and we want to reach different target markets from A- E, we made a number of product lines that are affordable to all markets.” And by that, he means that Temox have specific products for each segment, and are priced within budget.

Temox multi- insect killer is categorized into two types: water- based and kerosene- based. It is further classified as either aerosol type, which is sprayed, or the flit- gun type, which is pumped.

While the water- based comes close to being odorless, some consumers prefer the kerosene- based for its distinct insecticide smell. Edward has observed that there are certain consumers who prefer the presence of that smell as it indicates that insecticides have been applied to the room. Perhaps, he surmises, this gives them confidence and assurance that something is working to get rid of unwanted and disease- bearing insects. And so, they retained the smell, because “we really try to be sensitive for what the customer wants and needs.”

Temox Multi-Insect Killer is an effective, yet affordable insecticide that provides maximum killing power against flies, mosquitoes, and cockroaches in and around the house. Aside from being available in aerosol cans and spray guns, Temox Roach and Ant Killer also comes in chalk form.

Formulated by dedicated licensed chemists to ensure quality and safety, Temox is fast- acting, effective, and environment-friendly as it uses ingredients that are biodegradable and non- CFC. And except for the cans, Temox is proudly made in the Philippines!

Because he wants to make Temox available to more Filipinos, Edward plans to expand distribution in the Visayas and Mindanao. Currently, the product is sold in Bohol, Cebu, Iloilo and Davao. He wants to reach Cagayan de Oro, Bacolod and Palawan in the next two years.

Further down the road, Edward wants to complete the household consumer goods product line of Monsi Chemical Manufacturing Industries. And after that, he dreams of evolving into cosmetics and pharmaceuticals.

In conclusion, Edward declares his ultimate goal: “We want Monsi to be positioned not only as a proudly Filipino company, but a proud company that gives livelihood to people through producing products.”
