98 MSMEs in Davao Region complete ‘Mentor Me’ program
THIS YEAR’S first batch of “Mentor Me” program graduates from Davao — consisting of 98 micro, small and medium-scale enterprises (MSMEs) from the five provinces and Davao City — are now preparing to join other Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) programs on product development and marketing. “They (MSMEs) will be now mainstreamed into the regular programs… The first batch of graduates for 2016, those that graduated last December, they are now our participants to the different trade fairs, very intensive product development activities… and hopefully in the next few years (go into the) international market,” Rachel S. Remitio, DTI-Davao head for SME Development, told the media. The Mentor Me program, a 12-week training course developed by DTI and the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship, covers financial, human resource, and operations management, among other aspects of business development. Ms. Remitio said they are now preparing for the training of this year’s 2nd batch of MSMEs.
