JBC holds interview for next SC justice today

THE JUDICIAL and Bar Council (JBC) starts its public interviews with eight vying for a Supreme Court (SC) justice seat today, June 19. The JBC received 12 nominations for the position to be vacated by Justice Bienvenido L. Reyes, who will reach the mandatory age of retirement of 70 on July 6. First to face the Council is Court Administrator and former SC spokesperson Jose Midas P. Marquez, to be followed by Court of Appeals Associate Justices Apolinario D. Bruselas, Jr., Rosmari D. Carandang, Stephen C. Cruz, Ramon M. Bato, CA Presiding Justice Andres B. Reyes, Jose C. Reyes, Jr., and Ramon Paul L. Hernando.
