‘Emergency hearing’ set for detained Ilocos Norte officers
THE HOUSE committee on good government and public accountability is set to conduct an “emergency hearing” on Tuesday to give the six detained Ilocos Norte provincial officers a chance to clear their names on the alleged misuse of the province’s tobacco funds. The six were cited in contempt by the House panel, upon the motion of House Majority Leader Rodolfo C. Fariñas, because of their “dismissive answers” during the House probe.
