Ateneo, FINEX create a Professorial Chair

THE ATENEO de Manila University has created an endowment fund in honor of one of its alumni - Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Governor Amando M. Tetangco, Jr. (AB Economics ’73).

The endowment was made possible through the generosity of the Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines (FINEX). Executives from FINEX, led by its president, Atty. Benedicta Du-Balalad, visited the Ateneo’s Loyola Heights campus on June 5, 2017 to hand over their donation.

The endowment fund establishes the ‘FINEX — Gov. Amando M. Tetangco, Jr. Professorial Chair for Monetary Policy and Financial Sector Development’ which shall give recognition to outstanding faculty members of the Ateneo de Manila University in the field of economics, particularly monetary policy and financial sector development. The perpetual fund may also be used to fund research projects related to these study areas. The Department of Economics, School of Social Sciences, Loyola Schools, will oversee the use of the endowment.
