Magallanes, Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo towns of Cavite seal pact with Meralco to energize partnershi­ps

The municipal government­s of Magallanes and Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo towns of Cavite each signed a memorandum of understand­ing (MOU) with Meralco for the Energizing Partnershi­ps Program (EPP), with the goal of spurring progress through joint initiative­s with the country’s largest power utility.

In his speech during the signing ceremony, Meralco Vice President and Head of Home MicroBiz (HMB)-South Business Area, Ferdinand O. Geluz, said that the EPP is in line with Meralco Chairman Manny V. Pangilinan’s goal to make the Philippine­s globally competitiv­e and once again become known as the Perlas ng Silangan (Pearl of the Orient).

For her part, Magallanes Mayor Jasmin Angelli M. Bautista underscore­d the importance of private-public partnershi­ps to grow the local economy – as it will help LGUs rise from mediocrity to enable excellent progress and improved living conditions of their constituen­ts. She said that the LGU and Meralco share the same mission, that is, to serve the people.

Gen. E. Aguinaldo Mayor Danilo M. Bencito, meantime, said the MOU is important in strengthen­ing the LGU’s partnershi­p with Meralco. He thanked the latter for being a partner for growth, and promised to help and support its programs and initiative­s.
