BancNet reelects Tan as chairman, Chua as president
BDO President Nestor V. Tan and China Bank President Ricardo R. Chua have been reelected chairman and president, respectively, of BancNet for the 2017-2018 term, the electronic payments consortium announced. Mr. Tan is also the president of the Bankers Association of the Philippines.
Reelected with Mr. Tan and Mr. Chua during BancNet’s annual stockholders’ meeting recently were board members: Cecilia C. Borromeo (DBP), Gil A. Buenaventura (RCBC), Abraham T. Co (Asia United Bank), Cezar P. Consing (BPI), Reynaldo A. Maclang (PNB), Antonio C. Moncupa (East West Bank), Alfonso L. Salcedo, Jr. (Security Bank), and Elfren Antonio S. Sarte (Robinsons Bank). On the other hand, the new directors elected were: Edwin B. Bautista (Union Bank), Edmond E. Bernardo (UCPB), Liduvino S. Geron (Land Bank), Richard S. So (Metrobank), and Jay S. Velasco (Bank of Commerce).
During their organizational meeting that followed, the board of directors also reelected Maclang as treasurer, Aristeo Zafra, Jr. as general manager-EVP, Agnes Maranan as corporate secretary, and Elmarie Reyes as assistant corporate secretary. Maria Fe Liza Jayme was elected assistant treasurer.
Mr. Tan and Mr. Chua were also elected chairman and vice- chairman, respectively, of the Executive Committee along with members Consing, Maclang and So.
The new Board also appointed the members of the Operations Committee which is tasked to translate into detailed operating policies and procedures the policies and directions that the Board sets and to ensure the smooth operations of the company.
