CIS Bayad Center, Incorporated (CBCI), the country’s premier multi- channel payment platform, and LikeCash, a financial company focused on propagating the use of mobile money to the unbanked, recently forged a strategic partnership that will enable the typical Juan to have ready access to various financial services without the need of a bank account, a credit card, or even a smartphone.

With 84% of Filipinos unbanked, Bayad Center addresses the perennial need of being able to keep, send and receive money, pay their bills, and even load their prepaid accounts, by tapping the most common gadget found in every Filipinos pocket – the mobile phone.

LikeCash utilizes unique digital codes that provides its users the ability to withdraw and deposit from their LikeCash accounts through a simple SMS or text message. Through this partnership, users will now be able to avail of Bayad Center services – bills payment, remittance, and prepaid loading, where cash has been the typical mode of payment.

“Bayad Center has always been at the forefront of providing bills payment convenience to every Filipino wherever they may be. With LikeCash, we are able to reach out further to our ‘kababayans’ who do not want the trouble of opening and maintaining a bank account, but still want the convenience of paying their bills in one stop,” explains Manuel L. Tuason, President and CEO of Bayad Center.

LikeCash is currently being rolled out in various areas in Nueva Ecija as part of its pilot phase. “The end goal here,” according to LikeCash President and CEO Victor S. Barrios, “is to improve further the financial orders of the country by making it accessible to everyone.”
