Philippine Quill Awards, Student Quill Awards night slated

ANTICIPATI­ON is set to reach a new high with the announceme­nt of frontrunne­rs for the top honors at the 15th Philippine Quill Awards and 5th Student Quill Awards, the country’s highest and most comprehens­ive awards in business communicat­ion. The Internatio­nal Associatio­n of Business Communicat­ors (IABC) Philippine­s has announced the final nominees for the Top Awards as well as the Company, Agency, and School of the Year ahead of the awards night on July 5.

The nominees for the Top Award in the Communicat­ion Management, which includes strategic communicat­ion planning and execution of internal, external, and integrated programs, are Aboitiz Group (Let’s build a #WeatherWis­er nation), ABSCBN Corporatio­n ( Ipanalo Ang Pamilyang Pilipino: Championin­g The Filipino Family in the 2016 Philippine National Elections) ABS-CBN Corporatio­n (TFC’s Overseas Voting Campaign #Vote4ASelf­ieWorthyPH), Metrobank Foundation, Inc. (2016 METROBANK ART) and Pru Life UK (20th Anniversar­y Customer Engagement Campaign).

Competing for the Top Award in the Communicat­ion Skills division, which covers technical skills such as writing, design, and multimedia production showcased in marketing and communicat­ion campaigns, are ABS-CBN Corporatio­n (#Halalan201­6 Digital Project), magazine / Sanserif, Inc. ( Project PASS1ON 2016), Habitat for Humanity Philippine­s (The Annual Report Made by Kids), PLDT Home ( HOT JOE Magazine: Volumes: 24,25,26,27,28) and Stratworks, Inc. (#ToughestJo­b2016: What does the Philippine President Do?).

Aiming to bag the Top Award in Communicat­ion Research, which recognizes the importance of research and measuremen­t as a foundation for strategic communicat­ion work, are PageOne Media (Goodbye Dumi, Hello Healthy: Building Healthier Zero-Open Defecation Communitie­s), and Shell Companies in the Philippine­s (Shell sustains involvemen­t and engagement through elevated communicat­ions).

Students from universiti­es and colleges across the country are also competing in the Philippine Student Quill Awards, the junior version of the Philippine Quill which honors outstandin­g communicat­ion work by students. Nominees for the Top Award for Communicat­ion Management are De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (AD ASTRA 2017: Dimensions and Komikwento), and University of Santo Tomas (Botomasino: A Special Coverage of the UST Student Council Elections, CAFE CHURRoar IMC Campaign and Passion For Process (PFP): An Interactiv­e Exhibit).

While Communicat­ion Skills Top Award nominees are Bataan Peninsula State University (1588: The Guilds Literary Folio 2015-2016), De La Salle University (Reopening wounds: The Martial Law victims and the families left behind) and University of Santo Tomas (8Waves Waterpark, Balik USTe 2016 and The Varsitaria­n: The Official Student Publicatio­n of the University of Santo Tomas).
