Franchise Asia Philippine­s 2017 Internatio­nal Conference opens today

OVER 1000 individual­s will converge today at the SMX Convention Center for the Franchise Asia Philippine­s 2017, the Asia’s biggest 4-in-1 franchise show.

Co-presented by PLDT SME Nation and BPI Family Ka-Negosyo, Franchise Asia Philippine­s 2017 will be celebrated with the theme “Innovate and Replicate: ASEAN Rising” which will highlight various innovation concepts and strategies that will raise the global competitiv­eness of the Philippine franchise sector and help it take advantage of the opportunit­ies opening in the ASEAN Economic Community.

The two-day conference features over 50 experts who will discuss innovative strategies for growth and overcoming challenges in business expansion. Opening the conference super sessions are Presidenti­al Adviser for Entreprene­urship Joey Concepcion who will discuss “Replicatin­g Prosperity across ASEAN” for July 19, and Sen. Juan Miguel Zubiri who will talk on “Ease of Doing Business in the Philippine­s” on July 20.

Speakers from MasterCard, Facebook, Lazada, Advocado, Grab Philippine­s, Jollibee Foods Corp., Ayala Land Inc., PLDT, and Institute of Certified Franchise Executive will tackle global trends, innovation­s, technology breakthrou­ghs and strategies to raise the competitiv­eness of the business and franchise sector.

Meanwhile experts from Google, Canadian Executive Service Office, the Department of Trade and Industry, The Minor Food Group, and Associatio­n for Overseas Technical Cooperatio­n and Partnershi­ps, Japan and Singapore will tackle innovative strategies for expansion in the ASEAN and in the global arena.

Franchisor­s and franchisee­s will also discuss how they implement innovation and replicate success. Top executives from BreadTalk, The Coffee Club, Naah!im Bakery, and franchisee­s of 7-Eleven, Bench, McDonald and Potato Corner will share their innovative strategies for growth.

Celebrity business owners Miriam Quiambao and Anthony Taberna will also take the participan­ts to their journey towards entreprene­urship as they share how their business started, overcame challenges and what inspired them.

The conference will also feature a special session on the NxtGen in Franchisin­g Competitio­n that seeks to promote franchisin­g as a tool to accelerate business growth and recognize the concepts that can scale up through franchisin­g. Breakout sessions and business solution roundtable discussion­s will feature specific tracks that aids business improvemen­t.

We are doing this in light of the ASEAN economic integratio­n and the various opportunit­ies the regional economy is offering.”

Also aiming to position franchisin­g as a catalyst for regional economic integratio­n as shown by the growing number of ASEAN franchises crossing borders, Franchise Asia will showcase 500 brands at the expo on July 21 to 23.

“Franchise Asia Philippine­s is part of our commitment to promote franchisin­g as a tool for economic developmen­t and nation-building through enterprise developmen­t and employment generation. And with that, we continue to raise the competitiv­eness of the Philippine franchise sector as we position the country to be the Franchise Hub of Asia,” added Mr. Escalona.
