Craft and Plan Fair set at Festival Mall
CRAFTING and creative journaling have taken off as one of the hottest hobbies. Crafters and artists from the South are in for a treat as Festival Mall in Alabang, Muntinlupa City holds the “Craft ‘n Plan Fair” on Aug. 19 and 20, at the Upper Ground Floor Expansion Area.
Organized by Festival Mall and the Craft and Planner Bellas from the South (CP South Bellas), the Craft ‘n Plan Fair aims to promote crafting and creative journaling in the South.
“We really aim to bring the creative, fun spirit of crafting and journaling and help those who are into these two hobbies to improve their skills, as well as gain access to some unique crafting materials and journals,” said Gen Medina-Hembrador, founder of CP South Bellas. “Most crafting events tend to focus only on Makati, BGC, and the North. However, there’s a growing crafting and journaling community in the South. It’s about time that we have our own crafting event,” she added.
Even executives have gotten into crafting and creative journaling because it’s a way to distress. “There’s something relaxing about trying to make a beautiful spread. Plus, it’s a great outlet for the creativity that most people can’t tap into for their jobs,” said Ms. Hembrador.
There are also workshops for both beginners to crafting and those into it for a long time. One of the highlights is the Plan with Me sessions which feature three creative journal artists — Medina-Hembrador for stickers and washi tapes, Mitch Hildawa for calligraphy, and Chesca Salvador for watercolor painting — demonstrating how to decorate and fill their journals using their own unique styles.
The Craft ‘n Plan Fair is part of Festival Mall’s thrust to be not only a shopping and dining destination, but also a place to converge to practice different hobbies and interests.
“As a Life Mall, we want mallgoers to celebrate different aspects of their life, including their passions at the mall. We’re very happy to partner with the CP South Bellas for this event as it brings together crafters from the South,” stated Rose Nuqui, vicepresident for Marketing, Exhibits and Conventions, and Amusement Centers of Filinvest Alabang, Inc.
Festival Mall is a Filinvest Lifemall. It is the center of attraction within Filinvest City and is considered the heart of the city. The Filinvest mall group is also ensuring that its upcoming mall developments in other locations such as Il Corso in City de Mare, SRP Cebu, FORA in Tagaytay among others will constantly resonate the same value of a Filinvest Lifemall. And as its new branding and tagline goes, “It’s where the City’s heart beats.”
It is a premier development in Filinvest City, Alabang, Muntinlupa City. It is the only mall with five anchor stores: Shopwise Supercenter, SaveMore, Robinsons Department Store, Ace Hardware and Handyman. It has over 700 shops, a total of 2,300 multilevel parking slots, various food outlets, and indoor amusement rides.
