Golden Haven names new president

GOLDEN HAVEN Me­mo­rial Park, Inc. named Mari­beth C. To­lentino as its new president, af­ter Jerry M. Navarette stepped down from the post.

In a reg­u­la­tory fil­ing on Wed­nes­day, the Vil­lar-led listed com­pany said Mr. Navarette re­signed as president and di­rec­tor “to fo­cus on an­other en­deavor.” Prior to her ap­point­ment, Ms. To­lentino was the com­pany’s chief op­er­at­ing of­fi­cer.

Mr. Navarette is also the president and chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer of an­other Vil­lar-owned com­pany Star­malls, Inc.

Camille A. Vil­lar, daugh­ter of Golden Haven founder and chair­man Manuel B. Vil­lar, Jr., was also elected as di­rec­tor, fill­ing the seat va­cated by Mr. Navarette.

Golden Haven, which is in­volved in me­mo­rial park de­vel­op­ment and death care ser­vices, saw its net in­come grow 24% in the first half of 2017. Rev­enues jumped 13% to P473 mil­lion, driven by higher me­mo­rial lot and colum­bar­ium sales.

The com­pany com­pleted the con­struc­tion of the Golden Haven Me­mo­rial Chapel and Cre­ma­to­rium in the San Ezekiel com­plex in the first half of the year.
