Lecture on Angono

THE Metropolit­an Museum presents “Anguno: Localized Perspectiv­e on Arts and Community,” a lecture by Peter John S. Natividad, on Sept. 9, 2 p.m. The talk will discuss the lakeshore town of Angono, Rizal which produced two National artists, Carlos “Botong” Francisco for Visual Arts and Lucio San Pedro for Music, and was home to Juan Senson, a master of traditiona­l arts in the 19th century. The lecture fee is P150 and P120 (students, senior citizens, PWDs). The museum is located at the Bangko Sentral Complex along Roxas Blvd., Malate, Manila.

Charity fun run

RESORTS WORLD MANILA’s Run With Me celebrity charity race will be held on Sept. 10, 5 a.m., at McKinley West, Taguig City. Celebrity leaders will guide five teams to the finish line in 21K, 10K, and 5K categories. Among them are Troy Montero and Aubrey Miles, Cristine Reyes and Ali Khatibi, Gian Magdangal and Meg Imperial, Dingdong Dantes, and Rovilson Fernandez. The five beneficiar­ies of the proceeds were chosen by the celebrity leaders, namely; the YesPinoy Foundation, HERO Foundation Inc., Tzu Chi Foundation, EPCALM Adult Leukemia Foundation of the Philippine­s, and COR Foundation.

A Necessary drama

THE NECESSARY Theater presents Blackbird, a play by David Harrower, on Sept. 8 and 9, 8 p.m., and Sept. 10 at 3 p.m., at the Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza, Ayala Ave., cor.
