Fine collectibles fair
THE ORGANIZERS of Art Fair Philippines and Art in the Park have come up with a third fair — The Nonesuch: Fine Collectibles and Rarities, which showcases a vetted selection of art, antiques, furniture, jewelry, books, maps and prints, and other objets d’art in a unique setting. The fair will be held from Oct. 27 to 29 at The Gallery of The Peninsula Manila in Makati City. There will be 12 participants, ranging from art galleries to jewellers to antique and furniture stores. An adjunct to the fair is The Nonesuch Salon, a speaker’s series of talks on a wide range of topics, at the hotel’s Sionil Jose Function Room. Martin Tinio, Jr. will be talking about “The Peineta: Combing Through Its History” on Oct. 27, 11 a.m. This will be followed at 4 p.m. by Emmanuel Breguet discussing his family’s legacy in “Breguet, Watchmakers since 1775.” On Oct. 28, 2 p.m., playwright and textile collector Floy Quintos will discuss the “The Ifugao On Oct. 29, 10 a.m., Prof. Ambeth F.
