Biggest gathering of associations set on Nov. 22-23
THE Associations Summit 5 (AS5), co-presented by the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) and the Philippine Council of Associations and Association Executives (PCAAE), is set to be held on Nov. 22-23 at the Philippine International Convention Center (PICC).
Aside from TPB and PICC, the Summit is also supported by the Manila-headquartered Association of Development Financing Institutions in Asia and the Pacific (ADFIAP) and both Washington, DC-based American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and the Center of International Private Enterprise (CIPE).
With the theme “Stronger Together,” the Summit is expected to draw more than 200 associations and association professionals here and abroad. The two-day summit will feature 15 plenaries, breakout sessions, and learning tracks to be covered by 30 local and international speakers who will share best practices in association governance, leadership and management as well as showcase outstanding initiatives in community, business, and human capital development.
There will also be a table top exhibition where 32 suppliers to associations take advantage of the B2B opportunities at the Summit. Participating PCAAE members will also earn points that could lead to earning the title Certified Professional Association Executive (CPAE).
The Summit will also be the fitting venue of the “Ang Susi” Awards 2017 night. “Ang Susi” stands for “Associations nurture National Growth through Social Unity and Sustainability Innovations” and also symbolizes the key role that the sector and its professionals contribute to nation building.
The awards will be given to membership organizations in six categories for their outstanding achievements in helping the environment, empowering people, serving communities, enhancing trade and industry, developing technology solutions, and for being agents of change. Two individual awards, the Association Board Member of the Year and the Association Executive of the Year, will be bestowed on outstanding career professionals who have sustainably governed and managed an association and produced remarkable results.
PCAAE is dubbed the “association of associations,” as it is the country’s first and only organization that caters to the needs of associations and association managers. Since it was formed four years ago, the number of association professional members has swollen to 250 representing 170 associations and other membership organizations all over the country.
