ABCSI ties up with JCFAP for 1st ‘real’ inter-campus stock market challenge
PIONEERING stock brokerage house AB Capital Securities, Inc. (ABCSI) will roll out its first- ever Stock Market Challenge for college students in February this year in partnership with the Junior Confederation of Finance Associations – Philippines (JCFAP), the umbrella organization of collegebased finance associations nationwide. The two organizations recently signed a memorandum of understanding for the joint undertaking.
The AB Capital Stock Market Challenge is the country’s first campus- based competition that will allow students to trade not just virtually but in real- time with real money and using ABCSI’s online trading platform. It is part of ABCSI and the entire AB Capital Group’s advocacy to foster financial literacy among Filipinos. Participating students will come from different schools all over the country which were invited and screened by JCFAP and AB Capital to join the stock challenge.
“Partnering with the academe is one of the best ways to introduce stock trading to the youth — and thus start them early in this type of investment that they can turn into a lucrative undertaking,” said Victor “Junvee” L. Vital, president and chief operating offi cer of AB Capital and Investment Corp., ABCSI’s parent fi rm.
Student teams will compete from Feb. 19 to April 20, using their newly opened AB Capital stock trading accounts. They will be provided trading capital, news and research materials as well as mentoring by AB Capital’s research analysts.
One champion team will each be chosen from Luzon and VisMin and awarded the trading cup and P50,000 cash prize. Awarding of winners will be done on April 30. For more details, visit
