VLL to end year with 30 malls

- By Arra B. Francia Reporter

VISTA LAND & Lifescapes, Inc. ( VLL) targets to have 30 Vista Malls by the end of 2018, located near its master planned projects to support the needs of its residents.

This will give the property firm of tycoon Manuel B. Villar, Jr. a gross leasable area of close to a million square meters by the end of the year.

“We’re on track for our expansion, for example just recently we opened our 23rd Vista Mall. And by 2018 we hope to open up to 30. Inside the Vista Mall of course, the anchor is the All Day Supermarket, All Home, Coffee Project, and Bake My Day, all of which are doubling in size in the next two to three years,” Camille A. Villar, managing director of Vista Land Commercial, said in a recent interview.

All Home, All Day Supermarket, All Toys, Coffee Project, and Bake My Day are under Mr. Villar’s retail arm, All Value Holdings Corp. (AVHC).

Ms. Villar said the expansion program will include around seven to eight malls in Vista City, VLL’s 1,500-hectare project on the boundaries of Muntinlupa, Cavite, Las Piñas, and Laguna.

The strategy for expansion until the 50th Vista Mall will be to follow VLL’s master planned communities in the country, she said. The listed property developer currently has 23 such projects nationwide.

“Part of it is giving that extra service to homeowners and venturing beyond just building housing communities but self-sustaining communities with retail, dining destinations, schools, hospitals, universities, anything that one might need. So we want to be a full-serviced real estate,” Ms. Villar said, who also sits as president of AVHC.

With this, tenants inside Vista Malls would cater toward the needs of the nearby community. For instance, VLL’s high-end mall called Evia Lifestyle Center is located near a development by Brittany Corp., the high-end market segment of VLL which offers properties priced P9 million and above.

“Tenant mix is suited for communities, so in areas where we have Brittany and very high end developments, we have ‘super A’ malls… And the rest cater to C plus and D market, but we do have Starmalls which cater to the mass market,” Ms. Villar explained.

For All Day Supermarket, AVHC will be opening 13 branches to double its current store count and end 2018 with 26 outlets.

AVHC is also targeting to have 100 All Day Convenience Stores by year- end, from 72 branches in 2017.

Ten to 12 All Home depot stores to be added this year, in a bid to have 26 to 28 by the end of this year.

Coffee Project is set to be present in 45 to 50 locations this year. The coffee shop recently opened its 24th branch in Vista Hub, Bonifacio Global City last April.
