Pronove Tai facilitates UN’s move to new PHL headquarters Protecting privacy with Theft Alarm and Recovery Application
THIRTEEN agencies of the United Nations (UN) in the Philippines recently inaugurated UN House Manila. The UN delegation, headed by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Country Representative Charlotte Sylwander, signed a lease agreement to move UN offices to the Rockwell Business Center Sheridan in Mandaluyong City after 13 years in their Makati headquarters. Pronove Tai International Property Consultants facilitated the transaction, helping the UN find the space that fit its requirements, including those concerning safety and security. “We are honored to provide our expertise as property consultants to the UN and are pleased to find a new home for them after a long period of search,” Pronove Tai CEO Monique Pronove said. THEFT ALARM and Recovery Application or TARA is a Filipino-developed mobile app that aims to prevent mobile phone threat with its kill switch feature that makes the device unusable by thieves and their resellers. It is the first of its kind in the country. What makes TARA the perfect protector is that it works even without Wi-Fi access, Internet data or cellphone load. It is the first and only telco-enabled kill switch that protects users, their phones and their phones’ contents. It also calls attention to the thief by screaming “magnanakaw!
magnanakaw!” when it’s activated. “We need to feel safe whenever we go out. This is where TARA can help. It is like a seat belt for your mobile phone,” said Moses Lozada, business development officer of Galileo Software Services, Inc.
