Going on fun adventures is the best way to learn
SM Little Stars treats top10 winners to a trip to China for 2!
Traveling broadens kids’ knowledge on diverse cultures, places and histories, making it one of the best forms of learning and developing talent. As the saying goes, “Experience is the teacher of all things.” This is why SM Supermalls sent SM Little Stars 2017 grand winners Darren Sungahid, 8, and Gaea Salipot, 8, on a five- day culturalexchange trip to China.
“SM Little Stars wants to broaden these kids’ horizons with firsthand experiences and educational opportunities. We are committed to harnessing their talents and helping them grow as individuals,” said Jonjon San Agustin, SM Supermalls vice president for marketing.
SM Little Stars 2017 top ten winners, along with their parent or guardian of choice, celebrated their wins by visiting fun, educational spots in China, such as the Ciqikou Old Town, Legoland Discovery Center, and the Chengdu Panda Protection and Research Base, exposing them to the rich and colorful Chinese culture.
The nationwide kiddie talent competition and its sponsor Philippine Airlines made the trip possible for the kids, with SM’s presence in both the Philippines and China enabling the children to go on a trip that bridged both cultures together – a strength that is uniquely and distinctly SM.
After winning SM Little Stars 2017, Gaea performed in events like Grandparents Day and Kids Day at SM Supermalls. “SM Little Stars has helped me improve my singing techniques, so I’m really happy with these opportunities,” she said. Meanwhile, Darren stays focused on studying, but never forgets his passion. “I always enjoy performing in school events and community programs,” he said.
Witness Darren and Gaea pass on the crowns to the next superstars as 26 talented kids battle it out at the SM Little Stars 2018 Grand Finals on August 4 at the SM Mall of Asia SM Cinema Centerstage at 3 pm.
