Japanese property developer starts joint venture in PHL through AMAL

-

INDEED, it is the most opportune time to invest in the Philippines. This is according to Hideki Tanifuji, founder and CEO of Asian Mergers and Acquisition Links (AMAL) as he pointed out the country’s rise as a highly favored investment destination. This has encouraged a lot of companies from all over the world to invest in the Philippines. One of those is a company based in Fukuoka, Japan, called Kyushu Yaesu Co., Ltd. It is one of the leading real estate developers in Fukuoka and has been instrumental in transforming major parts of the city into thriving residential communities.

Before Kyushu Yaesu could enter the Philippine real estate scene, it had to have a local partner. “Because we are a foreign company, we cannot fully own land or property. Thus, we searched for a local partner who supports our company’s mission and vision and one that embodies our ‘Five Spirits and Ambitions’ which is justice, politeness, benevolence, courage and sincerity,” said Hisao Nakashima, executive vice president of Kyushu Yaesu.

This is where AMAL enters the picture. Established in 2015 by Mr. Tanifuji, AMAL is a boutique investment firm that guides businesses and corporations in merging and acquiring companies for business expansion and new industry opportunities. Through Mr. Tanifuji’s visionary leadership, AMAL has closed six deals, including finding an appropriate local partner for Kyushu Yaesu.

“We are connecting two companies from different countries. We provided advisory services and assistance throughout the entire rigorous process. After assessment and evaluation of Kyushu Yaesu’s needs, we matched them with a company that has similar corporate goals and objectives,” Mr. Tanifuji said.

The joint-venture partner AMAL found for Kyushu Yaesu Co., Ltd. is NedSteel Construction and Development Corp. From this joint venture comes Hinata Housing Corporation, which will develop low-cost housing in Nueva Ecija.

Development of the first phase of the housing community in Peñaranda and the second phase of another housing community in Tabon is ongoing. The prices of the homes range from P800,000 to P1.5 million in Peñaranda, and P1.5 million to P2 million in Tabon, making them affordable to most Filipino families.

Future residents of Peñaranda community are assured of nothing but the best in home construction. In fact, Mr. Nakashima is proud to report that Kyushu Yaesu has been given the “Good Design Award’ in Japan in 2017 — proof that the houses they build are not only sturdy and made of high-quality, but are also aesthetically pleasing and designed with the environment in mind.

Meanwhile, Kyushu Yaesu’s subsidiary, Ambitious Urban Development Philippines, Inc., started its foray into the Philippine real estate market by leasing 30 condominium units.

“We believe that the Philippine economy will boom and we want to become part of it. We are thankful for AMAL for guiding us in finding the perfect local partner who supports our vision to make a positive contribution to the Philippine real estate industry,” Mr. Nakashima said.
