Powertrends 2018: Transforming viable energy future through innovation
ON Sept. 4 to 6, Leverage International will be holding Powertrends 2018, the longestrunning and largest energy exhibition in the Philippines since 1995, at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City. This year’s theme is “Building a Resilient and Sustainable Philippine Energy Future: A Transformative Shift to Cleaner Energy.” This three-day event comes with an exhibition and a conference.
A platform for technological innovations, Powertrends will showcase the newest technologies, systems and projects by key energy players such as Shell, Andritz Hydro, and Wartsila Energy Solutions, to name a few. MTE Corporation of Singapore, the company behind the extensive lines of Harmonic Mitigation, Motor Protection and Power Distortion Solutions, will unveil their latest products: Matrix AP, their new three-phase filter, which is the most advanced passive filter on the market today, and the best-inclass SineWave Guardian filter which delivers unequaled performance in cleaning the PWM waveforms generated by variable frequency drives. Heatex Equipment Philippines Corp.’s reputable brand of Perfex for heat transfer will also be presented. The Taiwanese company Alpha Power Co. will showcase their latest generator sets, pneumatic conveying system and marine equipment.
Also to be displayed in the exhibition are the latest advancements in oil and gas automation, heat transfer, ventilation, power plant and marine solutions, green cleaning technology, cost-efficient power supply, energy solutions, electric power generation, transmission lines, substations, distribution systems, industrial plants and infrastructure developments, hydro automation, environmental solutions, thermal power, upstream oil exploration, and many more. There will also be technical presentations that will put companies in the spotlight.
In line with the government’s issuance of Renewable Portfolio Standards, which requires distribution utilities to obtain a portion of their power supply from renewable energy sources, Powertrends 2018 will display an array of enterprises dedicated to the generation of renewable energy. The Revised National Renewable Energy Program will also be a highlight of the event.
Alongside the exhibition, a conference will be held where delegates will be presented with the latest opportunities, prospects and challenges in the Philippine energy market. International and local energy leaders will analyze the most revolutionary technological developments that will affect the energy market such as electrical vehicles, microgrids, data analytics, energy storage and many more. This conference is designed to inform and spark discussions on the future of the energy industry, focusing on renewable energy, natural gas, electricity and cleaner coal. Oil will also be subject for discussion.
