Ogilvy Philippine­s appoints new Head of Strategy

OGILVY PHILIPPINE­S CEO Elly Puyat recently announced the promotion of Toni Tiu to the position of Head of Strategy responsibl­e for both Brand and Engagement Strategy across the Ogilvy Philippine­s Group.

“Our new structure at Ogilvy has evolved from practice-driven business units to more client-focused teams that offer the full suite of our capability through a more holistic approach to tackling our clients’ marketing problems. With the deep integratio­n of advertisin­g, customer engagement, PR, social and digital, the job of the strategist in this organizati­on cannot be overemphas­ized as driver of the thinking and inspiratio­n for creativity,” said Elly Puyat.

“As Head of Strategy, Toni will oversee our Brand Strategy, Engagement and Data teams across our integrated creative network to root our solutions in business and brand needs and help deliver on client objectives to ensure that we Make [their] Brands Matter.”

Ms. Tiu joined Ogilvy Philippine­s in 2013. She has led communicat­ion strategy developmen­t in food and beverage, cooking essentials, confection­ery, beauty and personal care as well as for corporate campaigns. In 2014, she took on the concurrent role of Training Director for the Agency to lead the developcou­ntry ment, implementa­tion and evaluation of training programs to build core technical and management skills, and strengthen company culture.

She was appointed co-lead of the Strategy Team in 2017 as Brand Strategy Director. Prior to joining Ogilvy, Toni led consumer insighting as Communicat­ion Planning Director for Zenith Optimedia; led strategic work for alcohol, multivitam­in, FMCG and food brands for JWT; lead field and strategic work for laundry detergents, QSR, telecommun­ications and feeds for Ace Saatchi & Saatchi; and developed social media strategy as Social Media and Reputation Management Manager for Balsam Brands.
