A CULINARY ODYSSEY AWAITS AT WINFORD MANILA

-

While t h e Co - vid- 19 pandemic continues to disrupt the country’s tourism and hospitality industry, Winford Manila Resort & Casino ( Winford) has been keeping busy— in the kitchen.

Like thousands of other hotels here and around the world, Winford cannot resume full operations until health authorities downgrade the metro’s current lockdown status from “general community quarantine ( GCQ)” to “modified general community quarantine ( MGCQ).”

In the meantime, Winford’s food and beverage team, spearheaded by Chef Fatima “Patty” Libre, has been cooking up a storm for its loyal patrons who continue to enjoy a taste of the luxury hotel, either through a food delivery service dubbed Winford on Wheels ( WOW), as dine- in guests, or for take- out orders.

Launched in August, WOW started as a food delivery- cumcatering service that serves up home- cooked- style rice toppings. Its primary target market consists of corporate groups and employees of 20 or more, looking for variations on their usual canteen meal or packed lunch, with a value proposition summarized as “luxury hotel comfort food at an affordable price”.

At only Php180nett per order, WOW delivers on its promise, as well as delivering comfort food favorites anywhere in Metro Manila. On top of the diverse international cuisine like Beef Stroganoff and Chicken Schnitzel

with Coleslaw already on the WOW menu, new Chinese, Italian, and Filipino dishes were recently added to the mix. This month of October saw bestselling Chinese WOW meals such as Soy Chicken, Fish Fillet with Tofu, and Salt & Pepper Ribs become available for dine- in and take- out guests.

Also, hot on the heels of last month’s successful Bibingka ‘ Merienda of the Month’ is Winford’s new offering dubbed Ensaymadness. A quartet of the perennial Filipino favorite, each Ensaymada is given an exciting new twist, such as queso de bola topped with crispy bacon bits and served with a cup of hot tablea chocolate. Foodies are also invited to choose between other variants like classic Ube, and Dulce de Leche, all of which are freshlybaked daily in Winford’s kitchen.

Last, but not least, is Winfredo’s Pizza— Winford’s new and improved Italian entry in the shape of four mouthwatering pizza toppings: Margherita, Allmeat, Pepperoni, and Hawaiian. Winfredo’s Pizza packs all the authentic flavors of Italia, without compromising the distinctive palate of the Filipino.

“When the government allowed hotels to accept limited dine- in guests, we quickly decided to develop our menu further to give our loyal patrons plenty to look forward to when they visit our F& B outlets,” said Jeff Evora, President & Chief Operating Officer, Winford Manila Resort & Casino.

“The safety of our guests is the top priority. Aside from our continuous efforts to serve them a wide array of quality meals, we have invested a lot of time and money to sanitize the entire property for their safety and peace of mind as we await the go signal from health authorities to fully resume our operations.”

For inquiries, interested parties may call the Winford hotline at ( 02) 8528 3600, or send a text message to 0917 878 8670 or 0917 872 8583. Delivery is available within Metro Manila provided orders are placed two ( 2) days before the desired delivery date.
