Authorities are at a loss over the motive behind the shooting last Saturday of a sari-sari store owner and her companion as they were watching television.

Police identified the victims as Flordelyn Nojapa, 29, a resident of Barangay Payatas, while her companion was Andy Montañes, 32, also a resident of Barangay Payatas.

Investigation revealed Nojapa and Montañes were inside Caripiano Store, which Flordelyn owned, at 75 Penafrancia Street when the shooting happened.

The victims were brought to the Rosario Maclang Bautista General Hospital for medical treatment.

Nojapa was declared dead on arrival at about 10:13 p.m., while Montañes expired at 10:40 p.m. as he was being treated by doctors.

Authorities recovered nine fired cartridge cases at the crime scene and a deformed fired bullet.
