Cabinet members are set to report their accomplishments today ahead of President Rodrigo Duterte’s fifth State of the Nation Address (SoNA) on 27 July.

The pre-SoNA forum is a three-part series which shall set the narrative of the President Duterte’s SoNA.

The second leg of the pre-SoNA forum, organized by the Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO), would feature the various departments from participatory governance, human development and poverty reduction clusters.

PCOO Secretary Martin Andanar said the forum would include Secretaries Wendel Avisado (budget and management), Eduardo Año (Interior and Local Government), Rolando Bautista (Social Welfare and Development), Francisco Duque III (Health), Silvestre Bello III (Labor and Employment) and Ramon Lopez (Trade and Industry) and Fortunato de la Peña (Science and Technology).

Also joining are Secretary Isidro Lapeña (Technical Education and Skills Development Authority), Undersecretary Antonio Gallardo (Presidential Legislative Liaison Office) and Assistant National Statistician Wilma Guillen (Philippine Statistics Office).

After the forum, the PCOO would conduct a virtual presser to provide a platform for the members of media for queries and to clarify issues.

The pre-SoNA forum is a three-part series which shall set the narrative of the President Duterte’s SoNA and inform the public on the efforts of the administration, particularly in addressing the crisis caused by the COVID-19, the PCOO said.

“Following our mandate as the government’s communications arm, the virtual presser is a product of utilizing existing technologies to constantly engage the general public and media on the Duterte administration’s policies, services and programs for every Filipino while maintaining our efforts and endeavors in mitigating the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic,” Andanar said.
