BI deports American pedophile
The Bureau of Immigration (BI) on Tuesday deported an American pedophile accused of sexually exploiting girls in Cebu City during his frequent travels in the country.
BI Commissioner Jaime Morente identified the suspect as 64-year-old Craig Alex Levin who was thrown out of the county on 9 July on-board a flight out of the Ninoy Aquino International Airports chartered by the United States Embassy in Manila.
Levin was reportedly fetched by members of the US Marshals Service the airport tarmac where he was brought from his detention cell at the BI Warden Facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City.
The American was ordered expelled by the BI Board of Commissioners for being an undocumented and undesirable alien, and due to his status as a wanted fugitive in the US.
Morente noted that Levin’s name was already placed in the Immigration blacklist which means he is now perpetually banned from re-entering the country and will no longer be a threat to the safety and welfare of Filipino children.
Do not prey on our children. We do not welcome sex tourists in this country.
Records show that operatives from the Philippine National Police-Women and Children Protection Center (PNP-WCPC) in Region 7 arrested Levin at the condominium unit he was renting in Barangay Cogon Ramos, Cebu City on 24 May 2019 after he was seen accompanying a 15-year-old girl to his room.
Levin was arrested after US authorities, who tagged him as a dangerous sexual predator who targeted vulnerable children in the country, informed their Philippine counterparts that he is a wanted fugitive and is awaiting to stand trial before a US district court in Philadelphia for allegedly sexually exploiting minors in the Philippines and for engaging in child sex trafficking.
The deported alien also supposedly used the Internet to persuade, induce, entice, and coerce a child into sex trafficking and that he frequently travelled to the Philippines to engage in illicit sex with minors.
He was subsequently turned over to the BI and detained at its facility in Taguig City while proceeding for his deportation were underway.
“Do not prey on our children. We do not welcome sex tourists in this country,” Morente warned.
