UNSUBSCRIBING ‘BOSS BABY’
The original poster, who remained anonymous, recalled she quit the company after two years because it brought her sickness physically and mentally
The tables have turned for AOA’s former leader Shin Jimin whose bullying scandal was unearthed by fellow member Mina over the past month.
Mina, who is now promoting in South Korea as an actress, revealed in a series of Instagram posts the horrendous bullying experience she had to endure under Jimin for 10 years. But it seems that she’s not the only person that experienced so.
An old video of the group’s appearance on the 4 Things
Show began to resurface online. The guesting, which happened nearly five years ago, shows former AOA member Choa saying Jimin’s leadership is the group’s secret in maintaining a close relationship. At the end, Choa jokingly says, “If we don’t phrase it like this, we get beaten up by Jimin,” which makes the other members simply laugh in front of the camera.
The story of an FNC’s ex-trainee which came to light a few days ago also caught the attention of netizens. The original poster (OP), who remained anonymous, recalled she quit the company after two years because it brought her sickness physically and mentally.
On the Pann forum, OP said, “AOA members may look close to each other, but it’s the reality version of the law of the jungle. All of them are walking on eggshells around that one person, she’s trying to drive a wedge between them.”
Viewers have already started unsubscribing from Jimin’s official YouTube channel, Boss Baby Jiminem. Over the past week 5,000 people, equivalent to 12.8 percent, have unsubscribe from her channel. According to data analysis platform Influencer, it is the highest percentage of users unsubscribing among any channel in Korea. Jimin only had started her channel in May and had initial subscriber count of 33,000.
As of 4 July, FNC Entertainment announced Jimin’s departure from the group and has halted her activities in the industry in light of the controversy.
