New plot brewing?

-

The woke netizens of Twitter and social media are busy burning the lines on 15 July by trending #OustKiko.

Netizens were alarmed at the successive posts of Frankie “Kakie” Pangilinan who posted a series of tweets on the alleged plot to oust her father, Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan as chairman of the Senate Committee on Constitutional Amendments. The tweets are nowhere to be found on her page, but eagle-eyed netizens were quick to take screenshots.

“Just wanted to inform — currently the FB boomers have this movement where they want to oust my dad as the chairman of the constitutional committee in order to make constitutional changes, allegedly in order to address the COVID crisis. My dad is defending our Constitution,” read one of Kakie’s posts. “This admin can’t touch the Constitution for as long as my dad is guarding it. They cannot remove term limits (extend terms) without removing him.”

Upon reading her series of tweets, netizens shared and reacted.

“So it seems that the next thing they want to try is amending the Constitution to be able to have a parliamentary gov’t where corrupt congressmen choose who leads the nation. They’re testing the waters with #OustKiko. They really want to stay in power forever,” one post read.

“Bruh are they tweeting #OustKiko to support a political tyranny? Well ‘F’ this #OustYouKnowWho. Let the Twitter battle begin,” said another.

Sen. Pangilinan reacted to the alleged plot in interviews. “I am ready to give up the post anytime if asked by the Senate leadership but certainly not because of the ‘clamor’ of paid online trolls,” he said. “Besides, the argument that the problem of COVID will be solved by charter change is quite frankly out of this world.”
