Sixteen universities and colleges all over the Philippines will mount one stage play each for the second Teatro Europa starting 18 July. Ranging from comedy and drama to romance and tragedy, the plays are from European countries such as Austria, Spain, Poland, Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.

Because of the pandemic, rehearsals and stagings will be done online. This can be challenging to actors and creative crew but, according to Elisa Dacuma of Teatro Europa, even though the setup is going to be virtual, it’s still a manageable experience.

As restrictions relax, a limited physical performance will be held in August in Intramuros, Manila. Teatro Europa organizers said that as the government gradually eases up quarantine, more exciting things are expected.
