Arra San Agustin beyond the 'sweet' image
The 26-year-old GMa artistsaidshewouldlove to do action movies. and that’s exactly she has been offered, a starring role opposite Ruru Madrid in the drama-action series ‘Lolong’
For a time, arra San agustin was a perfectionist. The 26-year-old GMa artist said that in high school, she feared being scolded for committing mistakes.
But after joining StarStruck season 6, she learned something important.
“Ineededtoexperiencebeingembarrassedinfrontofeveryone, being disappointed with myself because, looking back, it helped me,”she said in an online media conference.“It made me realize that I can’t make everything perfect even if I wanted to. Those learning experiences are what keeps me going.”
arra recently renewed her contract as a Kapuso talent. She’s been with GMa for the past six years.
She said her passion for acting is such that she wants to evolve beyond her current “sweet” image.
Since she’s now open to portraying mature roles, arra said she would love to do action movies.
and that’s exactly she has been offered, a starring role opposite Ruru Madrid in the drama-action series Lolong.
“I’m super-excited,”she said.“It’s a new experience, I’ll learn a lot from the many veteran actors in the cast.”
To her, Lolong is like a breath of fresh air after doing drama-heavy scenes in encantadia, as well as in other roles and cameos that came after.
She said it’s her first time to do an“adventure-filled”role, even as Lolong is based on real life and relevant to current events.
arra added she’s likewise open to do villain roles: “I want to portray someone evil because such a character can have a deep backstory. I want to experience the emotions, what goes through their minds, why they hurt people.”
