Vessels carrying infected crewmen monitored
None is showing any symptom
The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is closely watching two domestic vessels reportedly carrying 12 crew who are positive with Covid-19 from Agusan Del Norte bound for Legazpi City, Albay.
The vessels, Mt. Clyde and barge Claudia, are being monitored following the information provided by the ships’ skipper, Capt. Francisco Vargas, regarding the condition of his 19 crew members.
Mt. Clyde is currently towing Claudia with 8,000 metric tons of steam coal en route to Lidong Port, Sto. Domingo, Albay.
Vargas reported that his 19 crew members are all physically safe and sound, including him, but 12 of them have tested positive for the coronavirus. None is showing any symptom.

The PCG Station Albay is making sure that the two ships will not deviate route and will not disembark crew members without proper authority.
Vargas assured PCG Station Albay that they will not disembark their vessels without proper authority.
The ships will arrive around 3 p.m. on Tuesday, 20 July.
The vessels arrived at Butuan port in Butuan City, Agusan del Norte from Indonesia on 14 July and left the next day.
While at the port, they underwent RT-PCR tests for Covid-19, the results of which were known while the vessels were already at sea going to Albay.
The PCG Station Albay is making sure that the two ships will not deviate route and will not disembark crew members without proper authority.
