Bong Go remains focused on public service

Thank you very much to my Filipino brothers and sisters for your continued trust and support for President Duterte and I. However, what is important now is the service we provide to the people

While he is thankful for the continuing trust and support he and the Duterte administration are receiving from the Filipino people, Senator Christopher “Bong” Go stressed his primary focus now is in fulfilling his work as a public servant, especially toward helping the country recover from the pandemic.

Go was the chosen vice-presidential candidate of 23.6 percent of respondents in Publicus Asia’s Pahayag-Quarter 3 survey, which was conducted from 11 to 18 October.

In the survey, Dr. Willie Ong came in second with 19 percent, Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III came in third with 17.3 percent, and Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan was chosen by 12.3 percent of respondents.

In the survey, Go has the highest trust score among senators to retain the top spot, consistent with the results in the Quarter 2 survey conducted last July this year.

The independent and noncommissioned survey comprised 1,500 respondents taken from a market research panel of more than 20,000 Filipinos.

Go emphasized the country’s leaders must remain focused in fulfilling their roles and overcoming the health crisis rather than anticipating the national elections next year.

“Thank you very much to my Filipino brothers and sisters for your continued trust and support for President Duterte and I. However, what is important now is the service we provide to the people — how we can lift them out of poverty, how we can avoid hunger, and how we can continue our development,” Go stressed.

“It is up for Filipinos to decide when the time comes. As for me, from then until now, my priority is to help those in need ,” he added.

He reassured he will remain dedicated to serving Filipinos as long as he could.

Earlier, Sen. Go committed he will not waste any opportunity to serve fellow Filipinos in need, and that he will be a “working vice president” if elected by the Filipino people.

If God wills that he become vice president, he promised he will not just be a spare tire, and he is willing to work with anyone the people will choose to lead the country.

“I will share what I learned from President Duterte under his administration. I will help so that we will be successful, because this is the time of cooperation, this is the time of unity,” Go said.
