Kiefer helps Shiga rout Nagoya

Kiefer Ravena fired 16 points as the Shiga Lakestars hammered a 110-79 blowout win over the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins in the 2021-2022 Japanese B.League season at the Dolphin’s Stadium on Sunday.

The win avenged their 107-68 crushing loss to the Dolphins on Saturday and improved their record to 6-2.

Ravena shot 6-of-12 from the field aside from pulling down three rebounds and issuing nine assists.

Four other Lakestars finished in double-digits, led by import Ovie Soko’s 24 points and 14 rebounds, followed by Sean O’Hara with 22 points, nine rebounds and five assists.

Shiga skipper Teppei Kashiwagur­a delivered 16 markers, four assists and two steals, while Novar Gadson had 12 markers.

Ravena’s three-point shot sparked a 15-8 run as the Lakestars took control early. They led, 54-32, at the half.

Aided by Nagoya’s ice-cold offense, Shiga built a 40-point lead, 110-70, following a Marcus Topin jumper with 1:13 left.

Ray Parks, who shot 22 points on Saturday, was limited to only seven points, three rebounds and two steals.

Cody Clarke led the Dolphins with 26 markers and seven boards.

The Dolphins dropped to 4-4 win-loss card.

In another match, Thirdy Ravena and the San-En NeoPhoenix snapped their three-game losing streak following an 83-66 victory against Ibaraki Robots.

The younger Ravena did the dirty work, finishing with seven markers, seven rebounds, and five assists in almost 30 minutes of action.

Meanwhile, Dwight Ramos sparkled in the endgame, but his heroics were not enough to prevent the Ryukyu Golden Kings from posting an 83-80 win over the Toyama Grouses.

Ramos finished with 12 points, six rebounds and one block as the Grouses remained winless in eight games.
