Nueva Ecija road projects completed
The DPWH Nueva Ecija 1st District Engineering Office will receive a brand-new road grader that can be used in highway-maintenance and disaster quick-response activities
CABANATUAN CITY — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed three preventive maintenance projects worth P27.65 million at the second district of Nueva Ecija.
Nueva Ecija 2nd District Engineer Elpidio Trinidad revealed that the three projects are located in the localities of San Isidro and this city, which are expected to provide motorists and commuters a smoother, faster and safer travel.
The projects include the asphalt paving of the Barangay Malapit Section of Jose Abad Santos Avenue (JASA) in San Isidro, and the Barangay Pamaldan and Barangay Caalibangbangan sections of the Cabanatuan-Carmen Road in Cabanatuan City.
“With a combined length of 2.90 kilometers, these projects aim to provide better mobility for motorists and strengthen the existing pavement structure, correct any surface defects incurred overtime and improve pavement serviceability,” Trinidad said.
He added that his office is always on the lookout for any road problems, especially on highly traveled and critical road networks such as JASA where high traffic volumes are recorded.
Meanwhile, the DPWH Nueva Ecija 1st District Engineering Office (DEO) will receive a brand-new road grader that can be used in highway-maintenance and disaster quick-response activities which came from the Bureau of Equipment (BoE).
According to Nueva Ecija Area Equipment Engineer Edwin L. Lopez, the new machinery is necessary in the activities of the agency, citing that the BoE continues to assist the District Engineering Offices in upgrading their existing equipment fleet.
Lopez added that having a sufficient number of available heavy equipment will enable DPWH offices to respond effectively during disasters and they will be able to efficiently carry out other activities that require its use.
“Acquiring one unit of heavy equipment is costly which is why DPWH-BoE ensures that our equipment operators are knowledgeable on its proper and safe use, the reason why we required our technical team from Nueva Ecija 1st DEO to undergo three days of training so that they become familiar with the safe operation of such equipment,” Lopez said.
