For those with deep pockets thinking of setting up a stupendous home theater without going through the projector route for the breathtaking video, LG Electronics’ 97-inch Signature OLED M television may be for you. Tagged the model M3, LG’s flagship 4K LED TV with its proprietary Zero Connect wireless solution allows it to be mounted like a painting in an art gallery without wires and cables.

The imposing TV was unveiled by LG Electronics during the Las Vegas Consumer Electronics Show and it is expected to hit Philippine shores sooner than later with the market for TVs 65 inches and above booming.

It comes with an integrated bracket that sits the unit flush against the wall without gaps. The secret of the M3’s zero-clutter presentation is the Zero Connect box that sends video and audio signals wirelessly to LG’s cinematic, 97-inch screen.

Yes, the M3 is capable of real-time video and audio transmission from its box with 4K video resolution at 120Hz so gaming should be well served. It goes without saying that the box also streams the latest surround-encoded sound bits to the TV itself which boasts a superb audio presentation.

But then, we expect those who will buy the LG M3 to also invest in the latest Dolby Atmos sound systems for a truly immersive viewing and aural experience.

At CES 2023, the LG M3 received two Innovation Awards.

“Because it can be placed away from the TV, the Zero Connect box helps to create a cleaner, distraction-free viewing environment and gives users greater freedom to arrange their space,” LG said in a media statement.

“The box comes with multiple ports for plugging in commonly used HDMI devices, such as cable/satellite set-top boxes and gaming consoles and can also connect wirelessly with compatible soundbars for richer, more powerful audio and additional cable-free convenience,” it added.

LG said the M3 would offer users more freedom in curating their space through the leveraging of state-of-the-art video and audio transmission without degradation compared to wired set-ups.

To ensure the seamless transfer of data from the box to the TV, LG said it developed an algorithm that instantly identifies the optimal transmission path.

It added that the algorithm helps to minimize transmission errors or disruptions as “it can recognize changes in the immediate environment — such as people or pets moving around the room — and switch paths accordingly.”

For maximum signal strength, the box’s antenna can be rotated and tilted to align with the TV’s location.

“For maximum usability, the Zero Connect box is voice recognition-enabled, meaning users can turn on and manage the M3 and connected devices using simple, spoken commands,” LG said.

The M3 is capable of real-time video and audio transmission from its box with 4K resolution at 120Hz so gaming should be well served.
