Amid a shortage of driver-partners, Grab Philippines said it will roll out a new bonus scheme to entice more prospective drivers to join its platform. Grab Philippines, under the scheme, will offer up to P10,000 worth of driver bonuses and legal assistance for applicants with 6-seater vehicles, and up to P6,000 for those with 4-seater vehicles.

The bonus scheme applies exclusively to TNVS licenses registered through Grab. The move came after the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board opened 4,433 TNVS slots starting 9 January.

Expansion mode

Thus, the transport service operator is preparing to expand its fleet to further improve the passengers’ booking experience. TNVS operators and drivers interested may register through Grab Philippines’ website, where they can also read through the accreditation process. The LTFRB board said a TNVS operator may register up to three vehicles.

“We remain firm in the commitment to make transportation safe, reliable and more accessible to more passengers. We understand the vital role of efficient mobility in the daily lives of the commuting public, and we are fully committed to providing a much better ride-hailing experience to our passengers as we welcome more driver-partners,” Grab Philippines senior director for strategy and operations Ronald Roda said.

“We are optimistic that these new TNVS slots will truly benefit the many Filipinos who are back on the road on the way to their offices, families, and even leisure travels,” he added.

As the country accelerates the post -pandemic recovery of multiple industries, Roda said Grab Philippines also looks forward to further augmenting TNVS slots to serve more commuters.
